What is a Personal Projection?

In April 2014, industry regulator Ofgem introduced measures to make it simpler for consumers to compare tariffs. With every tariff, suppliers must now provide a Personal Projection.

This is an estimate of your energy usage and costs in the next 12 months, based on your usage in the previous 12 months. It factors in any known future price changes, even if they haven’t yet come into effect. It also looks beyond your tariff end date if that occurs in the next 12 months. For example, if your fixed tariff ends in 2 months, your Personal Projection will be based on 2 months at your fixed tariff rate and 10 months on the standard tariff that you’d automatically roll onto if you didn’t switch.

To help you compare annual costs we show Personal Projections in our results table, based on your usage.
