How to create a smart meter account if you're an existing Loop hardware user swapping to a smart meter account

If you have a Loop hardware account, you can't add a smart meter to your existing account so you have a decision to make.

You can use the same email address if you like or you can keep access to your existing energy data from your Loop equipment but not both.  

OPTION 1: If you wish to use the same email address as you are currently using for Loop

      • Step 1:  You need to delete your current Loop account first. In the Loop app please browse to Settings > Account > Delete Account.  The data recorded by your Loop equipment will be deleted as part of the account deletion (but you will get up to 13 months of historic data from your smart meter in the new account).    
      • Step 2: Ensure you have the latest version of the Loop app installed then open it.
      • Step 3: Click on ‘Create Account’ 
      • Step 4: Click on ‘Continue with Smart Meter’ and follow on screen instructions to connect Loop to your smart meter.

    OPTION 2: If you wish to retain access to historic energy data captured by your Loop equipment, you will need to use a new email address to create the new Loop smart meter account. The new account will only show smart meter data but you can also log in to the Loop app using your original log in details to see historic data from your old Loop equipment.  In this instance:

    • Step 1: Sign out of the Loop app.  Please browse to Settings > Account > Sign Out 
    • Step 2: Ensure you have the latest version of the Loop app installed then open it.
    • Step 3: Click on ‘Create Account’
    • Step 4: Click on ‘Continue with Smart Meter’ and follow on screen instructions to connect Loop to your smart meter.
