Why do I need to reconfirm my address?

You will need to reconfirm your address every two years to continue using Loop

When you register your smart meter with Loop, you consent to Loop (via our data partner N3rgy) requesting and collecting the energy usage data available from the smart meter(s) registered at your address for an initial 24-month period. 

  • Towards the end of the 24 months, Loop will request a revalidation of your address. 
  • If your address is not revalidated within 24 months:
    • Loop will stop collecting any new data and you will not be able to use the Loop app until the address is reconfirmed.
    • After another 6 months your existing usage data will be deleted.
    • After a further 18 months (24 months since revalidation required) your account will be deleted. 

This process will start again each time your address is confirmed.

If you change your address at any point you will have another 24 months until revalidation is required.  

Loop is obliged to do this every 24 months due to our data partnership with N3rgy, as N3rgy is a Party to the Smart Energy Code.
