Working with trusted partners to make solar installations easy
Loop was designed from the start as a way to help households understand whether solar would make sense for them.
Loop Solar is our next step: making it easy to get a quote and arrange an installation with a high quality installer through our network of trusted partners.
How does it work?
Once you've added your home's roof details to your Loop account, we show you the impact that solar can make via the Solar Simulator in the Loop app. This gives a great idea of what could be possible with solar.
If you like what you see, sign up to Loop Solar emails. We'll email you details about Loop Solar in your area including typical installation costs. If you've interested, the next stage is to arrange for a personalised solar survey with our trusted partner in your area. You can do that directly from the app.
What happens next?
From this point on you deal directly with the installer. With your permission, we share your contact details and relevant information about your energy usage profile to help them work out the best solar and battery system for you.
Our partners offer a range of purchase options and you will discuss these directly with them.
Your installation will typically be arranged within four to eight weeks and will normally take one day. Larger installations or installations including a battery may take slightly longer.
What does Loop get out this?
Our mission is to help UK households reduce their carbon footprint. Every successful solar installation means a reduction in carbon footprint of around 1.6 tonnes CO2e per year, every year that the system is operational. Solar panels typically come with a 25-year warranty, so that's a lot of carbon saved.
As you would expect, there is also a commercial agreement in place. For every system that is installed, we receive a small commission payment. This comes from the installer and there's no additional charge to you. This payment helps to keep the Loop app free to use and free of adverts.
