Approximately 10% of meters don't respond to our requests for usage data within 48 hours. Some of these may respond eventually, but others will not.
We run a variety of processes every couple of weeks for meters that have not returned any data, but they don't always have the desired effect.
If you have no data after two weeks it's likely to indicate a problem with the meter or the network:
- Ask your energy supplier to verify that your smart meter's 30-minute interval usage data is available via the Smart Meter Network (DCC) to third parties (such as Loop via our data partner n3rgy) using on demand requests.
Third parties and suppliers use different communication protocols on the DCC, so it's possible for meters to respond to request for a supplier and not to a third party. Suppliers are responsible for ensuring smart meters respond to requests from all users on the DCC.
