Do I need to let my supplier know if I'm moving house?
Yes, you should let your current supplier know at least 48 hours before you move.
They’ll ask you to take a meter reading and they will also need to know your new address, so they can send your final bill. Although it might seem inconvenient, taking a meter reading on your last day in the house will avoid any disagreements and will make billing much easier.
Find out the energy provider in your new home by contacting either your estate agent, solicitor, vendor or landlord. Once the supplier has been established, you will need to let them know you are the new occupier and after this you will be free to start comparing tariffs.
